Collingwood Coach Craig McRae has named the Magpies’ extended squad for Sunday’s Round Nine clash against the West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium.

Reef McInnes, Edward Allan and Joe Richards have come into the squad, with Allan and Richards joining last week’s emergencies Finlay Macrae, Jack Bytel and Charlie Dean on the extended bench.

Beau McCreery (concussion), Brody Mihocek (hamstring) and Lachie Schultz (suspension) are the three outs from the side that beat Carlton last Friday night.

The final team will be named at 5:00pm (AEST) on Friday May 10, while the tactical substitute will be named 60 minutes before the bounce on Sunday.

McInnes has played four games at AFL level this season, with the 21-year-old-forward booting six goals. At VFL level, McInnes has played two games, including kicking two goals against Southport last weekend.

Allan comes into the squad after a strong start to the year at VFL level. Selected at Pick 19 in the 2022 National Draft, Allan has averaged 18.3 disposals from six VFL games this year. In both Rounds One and Three, the midfielder has reached 25 disposals.

Richards is in the extended squad for the second time this season, following consistent goal kicking form in the VFL. The Wangaratta product has booted 13 goals from his six games, including a bag of six straight against Brisbane in Round Two.

Sunday’s clash will mark an AFL debut for both Allan and Richards should they be selected in the final side tomorrow evening.

Last week’s emergencies Finlay Macrae, Jack Bytel and Charlie Dean all played in last Saturday’s VFL defeat to Southport. Macrae gathered 25 disposals and laid four tackles, Bytel had 27 disposals and five tackles, while Dean had 15 disposals and three marks.  

The final team to take on West Coast on Sunday will be named tomorrow at 5pm.
