The Collingwood Football Club in partnership with SEDA Group [RTO: 22503] is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2024 Collingwood Magpies Sport & Business Program.
The Collingwood Magpies Sport & Business Program offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in an elite sporting environment whilst also gaining their dual diploma in sport and business.
Orientation Day was held across two days and kicked off with a welcome from AFL Men’s Head Coach, Craig McRae.
Building on the success of last year, the Club is honoured to bring this program to life once again.
Aiming to provide students with the ‘best of both worlds’: sport and business, the program combines comprehensive educational experience in a practical, hands-on learning environment with real experience in the sports industry, working alongside the Collingwood Football Club.
By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical exposure, the program equips students with the skills and expertise required to excel in the competitive sports industry.
Through the program, students develop skills and knowledge across a variety of areas including; sponsorship, project and event management, talent identification, social media, and marketing.
The program aims to better prepare students for future work in the industry through scholarships, placements and work experience opportunities that expose students to sports industry experts, coaches and elite athletes.
In 2023, the program witnessed remarkable results with 44.5% securing jobs in the sporting industry upon completion of the program and 33.5% going onto further study at various universities.
The Club is proud of the accomplishments of the 2023 cohort and acknowledge their dedication, passion and commitment to excellence.
The Club is committed to making a significant impact on the educational journey of all students in the program and looks forward to working with the class of 2024.
